Castillo de Capdepera

THE MIRADOR DE LEVANTE (LEVANTE VIEWPOINT)

Although the site has been occupied since prehistoric times, its castle was built under King Jaume II in 1300. It was a fortified village with humble dwellings, and its period of highest population was in the 16th and 17th centuries, when its inhabitants were constantly attacked by pirates. Today it's Capdepera's main tourist attraction.

El Faro de Capdepera

THE SPY OF MENORCA

This lighthouse, together with the Artrutx lighthouse on Menorca, mark out the channel that separates the two islands at its narrowest point. It's on the easternmost part of Mallorca and historians say that this was where King James I the Conqueror awaited the return of the emissaries he sent to Menorca to enforce the Muslim surrender of the island.
