Predi Son Jaumell Rural Hotel is ten years old and we want to celebrate it by taking an exciting journey, tracing the hotel's origins and bringing us right up to the present day. It’s a journey brought to you by the very people who have played a key role in this first decade of the hotel's life.

Hotel Predi Son Jaumell was originally an old Islamic farmhouse. The first information about the Son Jaumell estate dates back to the 17th century. In fact, some historians claim that the name Son Jaumell comes from Jaume II, the Catalan name of King James II of Aragon.

Since they acquired the estate, the families who own Predi Son Jaumell Hotel Rural have always been very conscious of the importance of building and renovating the establishment with the utmost respect for the surrounding environment, just two kilometres from the Castell de Capdepera, an area of immense historical, natural and cultural value.

Just as Pedro Pascual, one of the owners of the hotel, and in charge of its refurbishment, explains in the video, "the property's owners have always been consciously committed to respecting the architectural features of the old buildings on the estate as much as possible. The aim has always been to blend architecture, decoration, nature, and art, in unique and inspiring natural surroundings, to commemorate the simplicity of life in Mallorca".

Throughout this decade, the old houses on the estate have been exquisitely refurbished and Predi Son Jaumell Hotel Rural now has spacious, comfortable common areas with large terraces open to the exterior, where you can enjoy the stunning views of the lush nature that surrounds the estate.

Another of the main figures in the video is the renowned Michelin-starred chef, Andreu Genestra, who is at the helm of the hotel's culinary delights. He prepares local dishes using zero-kilometre products picked directly from the estate's vegetable garden. The oil and wine produced in the estate's vineyards, as well as the fruit and vegetables grown in its orchard, are served in the hotel's two restaurants, Andreu Genestra and Senzill. In 2020, both of these were awarded a Green Star, the Michelin Guide's new accolade for restaurants that make a clear commitment to gastronomic sustainability.

Tradition and avant-garde art blend and coexist in one of the hotels that has best preserved Mallorca's architectural essence.  Staying at Predi de Son Jaumell Hotel Rural is to enjoy the magic of staying in one of the most historic rural hotels in Mallorca.
