THREE SUNRISES YOU CAN’T MISS IN MALLORCA

09-09-2022

Getting up early is never easy, but sometimes it's worth it! Whether it's to start a journey, or simply to enjoy watching the day begin with a great cup of coffee, sunrise is a magical moment when we can enjoy the sky with its array of beautiful colours, and the calm of the surroundings. Watching it from some of the Mallorcan coves and beaches is a wonderful experience that nature offers us to start the day off on the right foot, full of positive energy.

We would like to recommend 3 of the most beautiful sunrises in Mallorca. There could be nothing better than spending the night at Predi Son Jaumell Hotel Rural and getting up at dawn to enjoy them.

Capdepera Lighthouse

faro de capdepera

Located in the municipality of the same name, the Capdepera lighthouse has been in operation since 1861. It's a key point on the Mallorca-Menorca route, as it connects with the Artrutx lighthouse in Menorca at the narrowest point of the channel. The building is 76 metres above sea level, so the views from here are unbeatable. After enjoying the colourful display of the sunrise, you can have breakfast in Cala Ratjada.

Muro Beach

playa de muro (2)

With its crystal clear turquoise blue waters, Playa de Muro is one of the top 25 beaches in the world, according to Tripadvisor's ranking.  Its fine white sand is ideal for sunbathing or just sitting and watching the sunrise at dawn. On its five kilometres of coastline, the beach has four walkways that allow you to venture out into the sea to watch the sunrise. Afterwards, as well as going for a swim at Muro beach, we recommend a visit to S'Albufera de Mallorca - a beautiful natural park where you'll discover the native fauna and flora of the area.

Formentor Lighthouse

faro de formentor

The Formentor lighthouse is one of the most popular places on the island to experience a sunrise or sunset. Located on the cape of Formentor, Pollença, it's the spot that inspired the poet Miquel Costa i Llobera to write his famous poem, the Pi de Formentor. It's 210 metres high and is the tallest lighthouse on the island at 22 metres. Watching a sunrise or sunset from there is a magical experience that you just can't miss!
